Mahabodhi Temple today described as “is possibly the most sacred Buddhist shrine in the world and one of the oldest temple constructions in the Indian Subcontinent” suffered 9 bomb blasts that have resulted in the deaths of two people and injured others. In the site is the sacred Bodhi tree growing in the temple complex is thought to be the place where Buddha meditated and reached perfect insight. It is the holiest place in the complex.
